Desiderio Avila, Jr., M.D.

Desiderio Avila Jr., MD is a recent addition to Urology Associates. Dr Avila is a fellowship trained urologist in the treatment of male fertility, vasectomy reversal and microsurgery. He also specializes in hormone replacement therapy, Peyronie’s disease, erectile preservation and the medical and surgical treatment for erectile dysfunction.

Dr. Avila earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. His training includes a general surgery internship and urology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he received extensive training in robotic surgery, laparoscopy, stone disease, female urology as well as prostate and kidney cancer. Post-residency, Dr. Avila completed a fellowship at Baylor specializing in all aspects of men’s health, including male factor infertility, microsurgery and male sexual dysfunction. He is an active member of the American Urological Society, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
